In The Media

There are two main aspects to KAN Art In The Community, one being public events and the other involving display of art in selected locations, usually for a 3 month term.

A few of the public events KAN have been invited to participate in have included Chelsea Downunder Flower Show, Globe To Globe Festival, Kingston Youth Festival, Summer Revival, Mordigras and Kingston Over Fifties Expo.

KAN Members often have the opportunity to display their paintings or sculptures in various locations around the Kingston area.  A number of local venues have hanging or display space which is available to KAN to promote Art In The Community.

In most instances, the venue selects the style of art appropriate for their business or community centre.  The selected artist or artists together with Art In The Community Coordinator are involved in the hanging and removal of the art.  The art is changed over after approximately 3 months.

If you are a KAN Member interested in this program or have a public space available that may be appropriate for this program, please contact our Art In The Community Coordinator.

We plan to add more information regarding Art In The Community projects here soon, including information regarding available venues and Artist and Venue Agreements.  In the meantime, photos of our projects are often being added to this site.
