Dorothy spent a number of years as the Secretary of Kingston Arts Network Inc. She has retired from a career in education and, in her spare time, enjoys creative writing. As a member of the Mordialloc Writers and the Peninsula Branch of the Fellowship of Australian Writers, Dorothy mingles with many people with similar interests and is inspired by the work of others. She fervently believes that it is important for human beings of all ages to exercise the brain with some form of creativity.
Dorothy brings to her writing the experiences of a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother. writing rhyming verse for young children is her favourite genre, and she draws upon the world of early childhood for her source material and inspiration.
Three poetry books for the young and the young-at-heart have already been published - "Tell Me, Tell Me", "Tell Me Too" and "Tell Me Please". Dorothy's next book entitled "Tell Me All" is due for release late May 2012.
