Grant is married, to Rosemary, who is a nurse. They have two children, the oldest is 20 and is about to start teacher training, the youngest is 17 and draws almost non-stop. Teeth, weapons, severed limbs, and teeth feature heavily in his artwork. They live in Aspendale.

After school, Grant studied Engineering for two years, then decided to make the world a far safer place by dropping out. (I still think Elevators could be made a lot funnier, but the faculty didn't agree...) He then got a job as a small-offset printer and eventually even learned how to do it. Finally, in '82, he went back to College and became a graphic artist and illustrator. After some years working in advertising agencies, he left and went freelance, which is adspeak for unemployed.

Today, he's still operating a small art studio in South Melbourne, eking out a living doing ads, brochures, billboards, websites, or anything anybody is silly enough to pay him money to do...

He started doing 'real' art about six years ago because his son suggested he should paint something 'really cool". He's still waiting.
