My name is Josef, I am an emerging artist in the genre of wood carving. I have a strong belief in the preservation of all things on our planet, especially our dwindling resources. I therefore use only found timber and objects in my art. I dearly love discovering the beauty concealed beneath the dull bark exterior of timber. In my art, I try to allow the timber to take centre stage while the shape I produce is merely a vessel by which to highlight the marvellous grains, colours and textures of nature. |
